This image was taken before the start of the all around gymnastics competition at the 2014 London Olympics. The London Ballet was lining up backstage to perform an exhibition before the start of competition.

As I made my way to the floor from the media room, I happened on this amazing site back stage as the dancers prepared themselves to perform.

Subconsciously I think I photographed this scene to achieve the look and feel of an Edgar Degas painting.

By slowing down the shutter, I was able to create a sense of intense stillness of the ballerina in the midst of motion and chaos.
